Methio-Form Chewable Tablets contains D-L methionine and is used to acidify urine in both dogs and cats. Urinary acidifiers are used when the pH of the urine is too high, causing struvite stone and crystal formation. It may help in dissolving struvite stones with time.
Methio-Forms active ingredient is dl-methionine, an amino acid that acidifies your pets urine. It also helps to treat and prevent certain types of bladder stones.

Side effects that may occur when using Methio-Form include loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Other side effects may also occur. Talk to your veterinarian about any side effect that seems unusual or bothersome to the animal.
Do not administer to animals with severe liver, kidney or pancreatic disease, or those which are acidotic due to conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes mellitus or urinary obstruction.
Caution should be advised against overdosing animals to avoid chronic over acidification which could lead to potential problems such as acidosis, potassium wasting, osteoporosis, Heinz body formation, and possible precipitation of non-struvite minerals in the urine.
